A new exclusive trailer/interview has been released for Dishonoured, an open world steampunk first person shooter that has some legends of gaming attached to it. On the team are Half-Life 2 artist, Viktor Antonov; Deus Ex lead designer, Harvey Smith; and it is being made by Arkane Studios, the team behind Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.
With their powers combined, they are looking to deliver a steampunk experience that is unlike any other where players can combine a variety of skills and machinery to take on missions in numerous ways. Whether it results in a blood bath, or clean murder-free success is totally up to the player.
PC Gamer is so excited about this, they have named it one of their “Games of 2012”, which while being a tad presumptuous, may be right on the money. After the huge success that Bioshock brought to the steampunk gaming scene, I think it’s about time we veered off on another path, and see what these legendary developers can pull off.
